The Presley's and the Beck's--the Elvis Connection and the Mystery.
NEW EXCLUSIVE-THE BECK'S LINEAGE TO ROYALTY
William Mize, the Beck's great-grandfather and William Hood, Elvis' great-grandfather were first cousins since their mothers' were sisters. Each of these men had daughters, namely Alta Mae and Minnie. Alta Mae became the grandmother of the Becks while Minnie became the grandmother of Elvis. Vernon was between Elvis and Minnie while Alton Beck and any other of Grandma Beck's children were in lineage between them and Grandma. William Mize would have called Elvis' great-great grandmother his Aunt Margaret.
William Mize died in 1963, well after Elvis became famous. It seems certain that our great grandfather Mize would have know his first cousin who was William Hood since their mother's were sisters and it also seems reasonable that GGF Mize would be familiar with his cousin's children, at least slightly considering they were both from close to the same area of the South. I would take the liberty to surmise that sometime between 1955, when Elvis became famous, and 1963 when GGF Mize died at 103, he would have been aware that Minnie Hood, who had been in the news, considering Elvis' popularity, was his first cousins' daughter. While he would have been a distant cousin to Elvis, to Minnie GGF Mize would have been her great aunt's nephew. (Minnie, who Elvis nicknamed Dodger, is buried at Graceland.)
To break this down, the Beck children of Alta and Reuben and Elvis share the same great-great-great grandfather and likewise our great-great-grandmothers' were sisters. Maybe the easiest way to remember it is the Becks' Grandma's (Alta Mae) grandmother and Elvis' Grandma's (Minne Hood) grandmother were sisters.
This also explains the mystery of the great attraction of women to the Beck men, something we now call the Elvis appeal. He actually got it from us but we aren't the kind to brag.
KAMUELA, HI, Mar 27 (MARKET WIRE) --
Millisecond Publishing Company, Inc., the world's foremost resource for
researching deep family history via its proprietary Family Forest(R) Project,
today announces its latest discovery: Elvis Presley, the iconic "King of Rock"
was,
in fact, himself descended from kings of England.
"Through at least one of the known ancestral lines of Elvis' grandmother,
Minnie Mae
(Hood) Presley, recorded history shows Elvis Aaron Presley to be a
descendant of King Henry the 1st and William the Conqueror," states Bruce H.
Harrison, Millisecond's CEO and co-founder of the Family Forest(R) Project.
Minnie Mae Hood, affectionately nicknamed "Dodger," was the mother of Vernon
Presley. Following her death in 1980 at age 92 she was laid to rest next to
Elvis's grave in the Meditation Garden at Graceland. (Graceland is open to
the public and is a major worldwide tourist destination located in Memphis,
Tennessee.)
